From the bride: Myself and Stephen wanted the day to be personal and to reflect us as a couple and the things we love.
The Personal Touches
Stephen is a web designer so thankfully he took an interest in the colour schemes etc. He designed all the invitations, mass booklets, menus and the table plan. He also designed a website www.stephenandmichellesbigday.com so our guests could RSVP easily, look up information about the day and check back to see the photos and video after the wedding. We named our tables after fictional movie locations a little nod to our love of films. We made the cake topper ourselves, I painted the bride and Stephen painted the groom. My sister in law Ciara made our little vintage jars of homemade jam for us which was a lovely personal touch.
Highlight of the day
There are so many little moments throughout the day that stand out but I guess I would say walking up the aisle towards Stephen to Sigur Ros’s Hoppipolla played by Lisaire was definatley a moment I’ll never forget. The music took my breath away and once I seen Stephen all my nerves melted away and I couldn’t stop smiling.
Words of Wisdom
As for advice for future brides I would say take a few minutes with your new husband every now and then throughout the day and just stand back and take it all in as the day just goes so fast!
