Today, Brinkburn Priory is the very romantic backdrop for Katya & Rod's pretty English wedding. Thanks to the lovely Jude Browne for sharing these images of a beautiful and intimate day.
From the bride: Our wedding was small and intimate with around 50 guests. We were married in The White Room within a converted stable block at Brinkburn Priory then had our wedding blessed in the 12th Century priory that stands within the grounds. We went back to the White Room for our wedding breakfast and because we were married later on in the afternoon (2.45pm) we didn’t have a separate evening “do”. The day just ran on, and we had a bar set up and music playing until late into the night. This was perfect for us as Rod’s family and friends live further South so it was an opportunity for everyone to catch up, relax and have a few drinks together. We had family and friends traveling from Sunderland and local Northumberland as well as Birmingham, Yorkshire, Wales, Italy and of course Jude and her husband from Ireland!!
We had the best day ever with some lovely sunshine thrown in. Everyone commnted on how fantastic the whole day and night had been and how they much preferred our smaller, intimate, and informal wedding to much larger weddings they had been to. Its not all about numbers but about who you want to share your special day with.
My advice for future brides would be its YOUR day, have what you want and not what everyone else wants you to have. Don’t get stressed about things going wrong, it will be fine on the day and honestly, nobody will even notice if things aren’t quite right or not the way you had planned.
